Srinagar, May 10: The Post Graduate Department of Economics,
University of Kashmir, here is organizing a three-day International Conference on “Impact of Peace, Conflict, and Disturbances on Economic Development Processes” in collaboration with Indian Economic Association
(IEA). The conference shall begin from May 11.
Chancellor, Kashmir University and governor J&K N N Vohra will be the chief guest at the inaugural event to be held at the convocation complex KU and the Vice chancellor Kashmir University Prof Talat Ahmad will preside.
Prof G M Bhat organising secretary of the programme said that Teachers, Scholars and Experts from academic institutions, industry and other organizations will read their research papers on themes like temporal Links Between Conflict and Economic Activity, Socio-economic Impact of Conflict on Regional Economies, displacement and dislocation under the Shadow of Conflict, Political Economy, Governance,and Conflict, Post-conflict Peace-building and Development Expectations, conflict, Natural Resource Endowment, and Environmental Stress, trade as Conflict Mitigating strategy, etc.
Hundreds of delegates from across the globe have already reached Srinagar to be the part of the international event, he said.
