Bilal apologizes
GK NEWS NETWORK
Kulgam, May 10: Seeking apology from the people on the incident involving him and Shabir Shah, Peoples Conference Chairman Bilal Gani Lone Thursday said that joining pro-freedom movement was his moral decision and nobody has the authority to question it.
Speaking during the delegates’ meet organized by his party in town hall here, Bilal said, “I apologize to Kashmiris who felt hurt by whatever happened in the party headquarters on Tuesday. I know people have lot of expectations from us and such things upset them.”
During the meeting of executive members of Hurriyat Conference (M) on Tuesday, Shabir Shah and Bilal Gani Lone had confronted each other in the meeting hall and their supporters had raised slogans against each other.
He said that though the people might not have uttered a single word against this incident but definitely they might be angry and rightly so. “Hurriyat represents the aspirations and sentiments of common Kashmiri and such things let him down. But I assure them that the sacrifices they have rendered for the cause will be safeguarded come what may,” Bilal said.
Bilal said that he was morally affiliated with the freedom movement and nobody has the authority to question him.
“It was my moral decision to join Hurriyat in 2002 and nobody else but only people of Kashmir have the authority to question me,” said Bilal.
Bilal said that he would stick to the ideology of his father, Abdul Gani Lone, and will not leave the mission midway.
Speaking on the occasion, Muslim Conference Chairman Professor Abdul Gani Bhat said, “People of Kashmir have been waiting for 63 years to get the UN resolutions implemented, but so far they haven’t been. So we have to look for other option too which is to find a solution through dialogue,” Bhat said.
Peoples League Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that Kashmir belonged to Kashmiris and they were the masters of its destiny.
