Save the Children organizes workshop
Srinagar, May 11: Child rights organization Save the Children on Friday organized a one day workshop here on ‘Education, Planning and Monitoring at elementary level’
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary School Education Department Farooq Ahmad Faktoo said hailed the Save the Children for its work across the globe.
“Whatever initiative or measure, the organization takes, it should focus on orphans as well as children who dropout from the schools,” Faktoo said.
Sharif Bhat, State Programme Manager of the Save the Children on occasion said that the education project was undertaken by the body in 11 districts of the State.
“We covered 400 villages in the programme and due to our efforts 3000 dropouts in these villages were enrolled back in the schools,” he said, adding more than 1000 teachers were trained by them.
“We also formulated education plans of these villages. There is need to have state level vision document for 15 to 20 years, he said.
