Sarpanch held with Charas

Srinagar, May 12: Police on Saturday said that it arrested a Sarpanch on the charges of possessing Charas.
 Quoting Police sources a vernacular news agency KNS said that on the specific information provided by the CID, Kreeri Police cordoned off the residential house of the Sarpanch and searched it. “Police had specific information that the Sarpanch was possessing nearly 400 grams of Charas which he was distributing among the youth,” sources said. “However, soon after the police party started searching the house, the Sarpanch assaulted some policemen after which he was taken into custody. Two FIR’s under No’s. 28/2012, 29/2012 were lodged against the Sarpanch in PS Kreeri.” (KNS)
