Prof Soz to continue as President

NEW JKPCC

GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, May 13: With Member Parliament Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz all set to continue as the chief of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), the party is expected to announce the new state party unit by this month.
Insiders claimed that the All India Congress Committee has given a nod to the reshuffle proposal of the state PCC and the final list will be shortly announced.
“The party has made it clear that Prof Soz will continue to head PCC in the state and he will get all the required support from the high command to strengthen Congress in Jammu and Kashmir”, a senior party leader, who recently returned after camping for a week in New Delhi told Greater Kashmir, on the condition of anonymity.
The announcement of the PCC president would be made by the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi. “Prof Soz will be than asked to constitute the new body of the PCC and the announcement in this regard would be made in Srinagar”, sources claimed.
He, however, added that the list of new office bearers has already been cleared by the party high command. “Separate lists were submitted by Prof Soz and union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who wanted his close aides to be on key party posts in the state”, insiders said adding, the Congress high command has discussed both the list and has cleared the names of the party functionaries to be given important assignments in the state.
If sources are to be believed the AICC has ensured that both groups – each led by Prof Soz and Azad – get good representation in the party folds. “The decision on the constitution of the new PCC will also pave way for the cabinet reshuffle especially among the minister from the party,” sources said.
