Cross Country race organized by GDC Tangmarg

Tangmarg, May 14: The Physical Education Department of Government Degree College (GDC) Tangmarg organized maiden annual Cross- Country Race from Gulmarg Baba Reshi Crossing to Gokihama covering 10 Kilometers distance in which large number of students participated.
The race was flagged off at 7.30 a.m by General Secretary, Winter Sports Gulmarg, Shabir Ahmad Wani.
The race ended at 8 a.m and the winners were declared by Prof. Bilal Ahmad Itoo and Prof. Hilal Ahmad Hilal.
Mudasir Ahmad, Irshad Ahmad and Ishfaq Ahmad bagged Ist, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Speaking on the occasion the Principal of the college Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Mir explained the purpose of the run and dedicated it for peace, dignity and prosperity. He highlighted the role of sports activities for physical and mental health of the learners. He appreciated the efforts of the sports committee for success of the event.
The trophies to the winners were given by MLA Gulmarg and Agriculture Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir.
