Div Com chairs meeting on land acquisition
Srinagar, May 14: The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a high level meeting of Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama and Budgam today in order to assess the progress achieved in respect of widening of Highways from Qazigund to Srinagar.
The meeting was told that 2621 kanals of land have been acquired and handed over to National Highway authorities in Anantnag district and 2526 kanals of land in Pulwama district whileas 208 kanals of land will be acquired in village Lasjan.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the Social Forestry Department for immediate removal of trees around the highway in accordance with the Cabinet approval.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner, Kashmir, Abdul Majid Mir, Director, Social Forestry, Major P.K. Gill AQMS of RR, Col. Sajev Dutt of RR, Commandant CRPF 144 Bn, M.R. Alam, Superintending Engineers of various disciplines, Beacon authorities and other officers.
