PDP-BJP planning to create 2008 like situation: NC

Jammu, May 14: Cautioning the people against the 'evil designs' of opposition PDP and BJP, the ruling National Conference (NC) on Monday claimed that the two parties had arrived at an undeclared alliance and were allegedly planning to create a 2008-like situation in the state.
"PDP-BJP have reached an undeclared alliance and are again planning to create a 2008-like situation in the state", senior NC leader and MLC Ajay Sadhotra said while addressing a gathering at Gurah Singhu, a border village in Marh Assembly constituency.
Sadhotra cautioned the people against the 'evil designs' of PDP-BJP. "But NC will neutralize their designs", he said.
He said the coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah had started developmental activities in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and the pace of development has frustrated the PDP and BJP.
Sadhotra was confident that the people of the state would frustrate the evil designs of PDP-BJP and not allow them to create the 2008-situation again.
"People know that peace is a major instrument for speedy development of the state. And people are experiencing the rapid pace of developmental activities under the leadership of Omar Abdullah", he said.
Sadhotra also said the Omar Abdullah Government was committed to development of farmers and ensuring timely and quality distribution of fertilisers.
The National Conference leader asked the Government to procure fertilizer as paddy sowing season has started and there was shortage of fertilizers in the market.
