Yasin Malik bereaved
Srinagar, May 14: Ghulam Qadir Malik, father of JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik passed away here Monday. He is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters.
“Ghulam Qadir complained of pain in chest at around 4 pm. He was immediately rushed to hospital where he breathed his last,” a JKLF functionary said.
He said the funeral prayers of Ghulam Qadir would be offered at Budshah Chowk here at 2:00 pm on Tuesday.
JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who is presently in Pakistan, is expected to arrive on Tuesday.
Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani condoled the demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, condoled the demise and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
“He was a noble soul and a fatherly figure to us,” Mirwaiz said.
Senior leader of the Hurriyat Conference (G) Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai condoled the demise.
Senior JKLF leaders, including Amanullah Khan, Rafiq Dar, Muhammad Saleem Haroon, and Dr Tauqeer Geelani, have also condoled the demise. Former chief commander of Hizbullah, Hassanul Bana condoled the demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Shabir Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, senior advocate Zafar Ahmed Shah, Mian Qayoom, President High Court Bar Association and its General Secretary, G N Shaheen visited Malik’s Maisuma residence and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
