Srinagar, May 15: Here is some good news for the Valley students aspiring for higher studies. Jalandhar-based St Soldier Educational Society has launched a whopping Rs 1 crore scholarship programme. The executives of the Society are currently publicizing the programme in the Valley.
“We are offering scholarships to deserving meritorious students. The scholarships are available in all the courses like B Tech, MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, Polytechnic Diploma, B Sc, Media, and Bachelor in Physiotherapy, B Pharma and B Sc in Hotel Management,” Managing Director, St Soldier Educational Society, Mahar Arora said at a press conference here today.
Arora said the Society gives 100 per cent fee waiver to candidates coming from families having less than Rs 1 lakh annual income.
“Last year more than 200 students from J&K received financial assistance from the Society,” he said, adding that the scholarships have been created in the name of Master Raj Kanwar.
Given the huge talent in J&K students, “we have decided to come here. We are hopeful that students of the state will get benefited from the programme,” he said.
Arora said the Society shall help the students who will be enrolled under the scheme in their placements.
“We have strong relationship with the industry and corporate sector and every effort will be made to help students find job options in J&K only.”
Pertinently, the last date for applying for the scholarships is June 30.
Giving details about the Society, Arora said, “Soldier Group of Institutions is offering education in the streams of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Polytechnic, Teacher Education, Physiotherapy, Law, Nursing, Bio-Technology, ITI, Fashion Technology, Media and Entertainment, Arts, Commerce, Science and Public Schools.”
“More than 30,000 students from across India are acquiring education in its 44 Institutions,” he said.
