Khan Colony complains of power ‘overdose’

Srinagar, May 16: The residents of Khan Colony Chanapora Wednesday alleged that a blast in the power transformer in the area has resulted in damage to the electronic goods.
 A delegation of residents said the blast occurred on the interim night of Friday and Saturday, and caused damage to electronic goods in many households. 
 “At around 4 AM, a blast occurred and sparks emanating from HT lines close to the transformer lit the entire area. For a moment we though the entire colony would be gutted. When the light returned, most of the families found electronic gadgets like refrigerators, bulbs and control units damaged,” Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, a resident, said.
 The residents appealed the concerned Executive Engineer PDD to look into the matter.
