Thousands visit Malik’s residence

HINA,REHMAN, NAWAZ CALL MALIK, CONDOLE DEMISE

Srinagar, May 16: Thousands of people from different walks of life on Wednesday visited the residence of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik at Maisuma here to condole the demise of his father Ghulam Qadir Malik who passed away on Monday.
 Prominent people including pro-movement and activists, traders, human rights activists, journalists, intellectuals, scholars, columnists and writers visited Malik’s residence and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
 Meanwhile, a number of prominent leaders including from Pakistan and Pakistan Administered Kashmir telephonically conveyed their condolence to Malik.
 They included Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabani Khar, Pakistan Home Minister Rehman Malik, Pakistan Muslim League (N) president Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharief, Qazi Hussian Ahmad of Pakistan Jama’at-i-Islami, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman of Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf president Javid Hashmi, the head of Pakistan People’s Party in the Senate Jehangir Badr, MQM leader Farooq Sattar, Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) Prime Minister Chowdry Abdul Majid, PaK president Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob, Pakistan foreign secretary Jalil Abas Jeelani,
 PaK Muslim Conference President Sardar Atiq Ahmed Khan, former Chief Justice of PaK Abdul Rashid Turabi, Pakistan's leading human rights leader Asma Jehangir, chief of Pakistan's Dawn group, Hameed Haroon, prominent columnist Haroon Rashid, senior PAK journalist and Geo TV's anchor, Hamid Mir, US Embassy in Delhi political consultant, Kailash Jha.
 Others who extended condolences to Malik included, APHC-G Pak chapter, Jamat-e-Dawa Pakistan chief Hafiz Muhammad Sayed and United Jihad Council chairman Syed Salah-ud-Din, besides senior mainstream leaders Ghulam Hassan Mir and Hakim Yaseen, Engineer Rashid, Nizamuddin Bhat and Saifuddin personally conveyed their condolences to Malik.
 The Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) also condoled the demise and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

NC DELEGATION MEETS MALIK 
 Meanwhile, a delegation of NC headed by provincial president Ali Muhammad Dar visited Maisuma and expressed sympathies with Malik.
 The other leaders who were also part of the delegation included vice president JKNC Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah, vice president province Sheikh Abdul Rehman, provincial secretary Sheikh Ghulam Ahmad Saloora, and joint secretary Ghulam Ahmad Bhat and prayed for peace to soul of the deceased.
 The delegation also expressed condolence message on behalf of the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah, and General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad.
