Jamaat concerned over infant deaths

G B Pant Hospital Reminds Us Of Second World War: Javid Mir

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, May 17: Expressing grave concern over the death of infants in G B Pant Hospital in Srinagar, the Jamaat-e-Islami on Thursday demanded an immediate probe into matter and a stringent action against the delinquent doctors and other staff.
“People have been crying over the poor medicare in the hospital for a long time but no one heard them. There is a common complaint that most of the senior doctors of this hospital spend more time in their private clinics than in the hospital and their treatment with the patients is not as compassionate as expected from them. Doctors should not consider themselves as super-humans because they are given tremendous respect by the people. They are just like other public servants and are being adequately paid for their services. If a doctor ignores his duty, he is committing a blatant violation of his pledge for which he is answerable, if not here but in the hereafter,” said the Jamiat spokesman Advocate Zahid Ali in a statement today, appealing to the people belonging to medical fraternity to fulfill their duties keeping in view the sensitivity of their profession and treat patients as human beings.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (H) Javid Ahmad Mir on Thursday expressed serious concern over the death of neonates at G B Pant Hospital, Srinagar.
“The fourth generation of Kashmiris is killed soon after their birth at GB Pant hospital,” Mir said, adding that “The G B Pant hospital reminds us of the second World War when the Hilter had started killing the children of his rival nations through Nazi army. Similar situation is prevailing in G B Pant hospital.”
“On one hand, the newly born babies die due to negligence of doctors, on the other, the government is adjusting the delinquent officers on prize postings,” said Mir.
