3 die, 3 hurt in accidents
Pulwama, May 18: Three persons were killed and two others critically injured when a car rammed into a roadside tree on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
Sartaj Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Majeed, his sister Bilqeesa and Gul Muhammad Bhat son of Sonaullah died on the spot when the car driver lost control over the vehicle and hit a Chinar tree at Nambal area of Awantipora late last night.
Two other persons travelling in the vehicle were critically injured in the accident and were hospitalized.
The injured were identified as Shamim Ahmad Bhat and Mehra. All the five were hailing from Poonew village of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
In an another road accident a Sumo bearing registration number JK05B/1017 and a Video Coach bearing registration number JK02AD/3271 collided at Lethpora, Awantipora, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Awantipora, resulting in injuries to one passenger Bashir Ahmad Awan resident of Gingli, Uri. The injured was shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital, Srinagar for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
