Children hospital employees protest

Srinagar, May 1: Demanding a vigilance probe in the utilization of Hospital Development Fund (HDF), the employees of Valley’s lone children hospital at Sonawar Tuesday held protest demonstrations in the hospital premises.
Raising slogans against the hospital authorities, the employees alleged the authorities ignored their demands and the healthcare of the patient. “They undertook unnecessary construction projects in the hospital and wasted lot of revenue,” president Employees Federation, Farooq Ahmad told this newspaper. “The essential supply of drugs and reagents have already been exhausted but higher ups don’t place orders rather they do lot of local purchase to earn some commission from the companies,” he alleged. When contacted, the medical superintendent, Dr Javid Chowdary refuted the allegations as baseless.
