Weather forecast facilities to be upgraded for Yatra: SASB
Srinagar, May 1: In a bid to ensure better forecasting of weather for the smooth conduct of ensuing Amarnath Yatra, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) today reviewed various measures for the endeavour.
It was disclosed that the Meteorological Department was in the process of establishing three Advanced Warning Systems (AWS) each at the Base Camps at Baltal and Pahalgam besides near the Cave.
“This will provide better and more accurate prediction of likely weather on a given date," a SASB spokesman said.
