Meat prod touches 7.3 lakh kgs in Baramulla

Baramulla, May 19: The Animal Husbandry, Baramulla treated 147000 cattle for various ailments, while 235000 cattle were vaccinated against different contagious diseases and 46000 inseminated during last fiscal.
This, according to an official statement, was revealed in a meeting of officers of Animal Husbandry which was chaired by District Development Commissioner, Baramulla.
It was given that during this period 1316 backyard units were set up and chicks were provided to 1517 units. About 2, 21000 sheep and goats were treated for various ailments while 738000 sheep and goats were dozed.
The meeting was told that the wool production has reached 4,55,000 kgs while meat production has touched 730000 kgs in the district.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Vets and field staff of the Animal Husbandry, Kashmir.
