Bharat Scouts holds meet
Srinagar May 20: Bharat Scouts and Guides (JK Chapter) held a meeting today and reviewed arrangements for holding its future programmes in the Valley.
The newly elected apex committee of Bharat Scouts and Guides met under the chairmanship of State Chief Commissioner NA Khan and Roma Wani Senior Vice President.
They conveyed their felicitations to RS Chib, Minister for Youth Services Sports and Technical Education, on his unopposed election as President of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
The provisional level body of Kashmir division also met to chalk out their future action plans. The members also stressed on the need to train the youth in disaster preparedness. Among other who spoke on the occasion included District Commissioner Bharat Scouts Aamir Ali, GA Parray, Muzzaffar Tramboo, Mrs Mehbooba, MR Khan, Sheikh Muhammed Shafi, and other scouts and Guides. The members paid glowing tributes to Prof NA Khan, father of Baseer Ahmed Khan, DC Srinagar and Muneer Ahmed Khan IGP Traffic.
Prof Khan had earlier been honoured by Bharat Scouts and Guides as Best Teacher on September 5 1998. Condolence prayers were also held on demise of mother of Zahid Ahmed District Secretary Bharat Scouts and one member GM Mir as well as famous footballer Farooq Ahmed, who was a devoted scout and had recently passed away.
