Chairman BOSE disowns threat statement
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar May 20: Chairman J& K Board of School Education (BOSE) on Sunday denied that his office had issued any press statement threatening reporters and publishers to refrain from indulging in any sort of adverse reporting against BOSE.
In a statement Public Information Officer (PIO), BOSE said, “Coordination Committee is a platform of gazetted and non gazetted employees and is functioning in BOSE office from past so many years. The statement was issued by CC on its own and chairman has got nothing to do with it.”
“We believe in the fundamental principles of the constitution and also recognize freedom of press. Our office has always cooperated with journalistic fraternity and has provided factual and genuine information regarding educational policies and system,” the PIO said.
Pertinently, BOSE through its Coordination Committee (CC) on Saturday had said, “All irresponsible publishers and reporters should put an end to false campaign against BOSE.”
The statement had expressed distrust and panic over news reports published in some newspapers, the committee through the statement which had appeared in “selected” newspapers on Saturday, had threatened to launch statewide campaign against publishers and reporters.
