Farewell accorded to M S Rather

Kupwara, May 20: A warm farewell was accorded to outgoing Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Muhammad Shafi Rather on Saturday. Rather has been transferred and posted as Director School Education Kashmir after the recent reshuffle in the state administration. Rather is expected to assume charge as Director School Education on Monday.
The farewell function was organised by the Kupwara wing of EJAC (Q) which was also attended by a large number of officers, officials, teachers, students and media persons.
Appreciating Rather’s stint as deputy commissioner Kupwara, speakers said that Rather had shown dynamic leadership and administrative skill in handling the matters of the frontier district, even at the times of crises.
Meanwhile, outgoing Deputy Commissioner in his address said that he was aware of the responsibilities as director school education. “I am fully aware that I have to lead such a department which is the back bone of our society", Rather said and added that he will try his best to restructure the education system in valley.
