Jhankar artists enthral audience at Ashmuqam
Srinagar, May 20: The picturesque Ashmuqam on the Lidder stream reverberated with enthralling Sufi music by renowned musicians from the Valley on Saturday.
The event was a Mehfil -E-Mausiqui, Ek Haseen Shaam which was organized by Jhankar Artists Association with assistance from the Army (Victor Force). Artists from across the Valley and local youth participated in the event.
The participants observed two minute silence in memory of Vijay Kumar Malla, Gulam Hussan Sufi and Abdul Rashid Farash, the famous folk artists of the Valley, who have passed away.
It was for the last time in the Valley in the last two decades that a musical evening was enjoyed by approx 1000 people mainly the locals for Lidder Valley.
