Chief Minister should take responsibility, resign: Hurriyat (G)
‘Govt Directly Responsible For Lack Of Equipment, Medicines’
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, May 21: Hurriyat Conference (G) headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani today demanded that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should resign taking moral responsibility for the infant deaths at the G B Pant Hospital.
Expressing serious concerned over the deaths of neonates a GB Pant Children Hospital here, a spokesman of Hurriyat Conference (G), in a statement today, said had Omar Abdullah any qualms of conscience he would own the responsibility and resign on moral grounds.
Terming the deaths of neonates as a very serious matter, the spokesman alleged that non-availability of medicines and other necessary equipments were the cause of these deaths and the government was directly responsible for it.
“The government has mobilised its whole administrative machinery for the safety of stray dogs in Valley but it has been insensitive, non-serious and unconcerned to the safety of life of newly born babies, committing criminal negligence on this count,” said the spokesman, adding that “Our neonates are killed under a well thought out plan aimed at genocide.”
The Hurriyat alleged that the Chief Minister and his ministers lacked the "moral courage" to take responsibility for these deaths.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) has expressed serious concern over the plight of its incarcerated leader Mir Hafizullah in Heera Nagar Jail, Jammu, appealing to the functionaries of Amnesty International and ICRC to exert pressure on New Delhi to release all the Kashmiri detainees immediately. “Mir Hafizullah is the only political prisoner in Heera Nagar Jail,” the spokesman said.
