Protest over detention of youth in Poonch

Surankote, May 21: Vehicular movement on Jammu-Poonch highway remained disrupted for over three hours, following a demonstration by the local residents, here, against the detention of a local youth, who police claimed was an active worker of Lashkar-e-Toiba.
Hundreds of people from Gursai area staged a protest on Jammu-Poonch highway accusing the police for allegedly framing a local resident, Nissar Ahmed, in a false and frivolous case.
The protestors alleged that the youth was picked up from his residence on May 8 and was kept in illegal confinement for over then days before he was booked in a “false and frivolous case”.
