DIV COM REVIEWS INLAND WATER TRANSPORT
SRINAGAR, MAY 22: Divisional Commissioner Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting to discuss arrangements being made for inland water transport in the City.
An official handout said: “It was given out that Kashmir Motors Association who has been allotted the contract for supplying water boats, would supply three boats by the first week of June.”
The SMC was asked to ensure complete sanitation on Ghats and Jhelum banks.
The meeting also discussed arrangements being made for operating Radio Taxi service in Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by Transport Commissioner, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control, Joint Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, RTO Kashmir, SSP Traffic Srinagar and representatives of Boat Owners Association.
