METERED AREAS WITNESS 8-HOUR POWER CUT
JAMMU, MAY 22: Jammu is witnessing an 8-hour power cut in un-metered areas and 3-hour in metered areas, a top official of the Power Development Department said here today.
Due to technical snag recently, there was problem in supply of power for 3-4 days, Chief Engineer Shanaz Goni informed Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs minister Ali Muhammad Sagar during a review meeting here.
He informed the minister that in metered areas, the power curtailment is of three hours and in un-metered areas it is of eight hours.
The Minister laid emphasis on maintaining regular power supply especially in the summer season. He directed the PDD department to keep a close check on power theft which results in power breakdowns
