Nasir donates Rs 5 lakh for Chanapora school upgradation

SRINAGAR, MAY 22: In a bid to improve infrastructure at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Chanpora, Minister of State for Home, Tourism, PHE, H&UD and Revenue, Nasir Aslam Wani, Tuesday said there was a “need to redesign the structure of the institution for providing adequate classrooms, laboratory and library facilities to the students of the area.”
In this direction, he said, a high level meeting of “all the wings of education department would be convened on May 28th, 2012 to discuss the plan for its redesigning so that necessary funds would be arranged for this ambitious project.”
Nasir, as per an official handout said, the institution needs a new appearance for providing congenial educational atmosphere to the students.
Nasir, who also happens to be MLA Amira Kadal, announced Rs 5 lakh out of his Constituency Development Funds (CDF) for “construction of additional classrooms, repair and renovation of laboratory complex, and purchase of sports kits.”
He directed “R&B to construct a pavilion for the sports activities in the institution.”
The Minister was accompanied by Joint Director Education, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar, Executive Engineer R&B, PHE and other senior officers of SMC and SDA. Earlier, the students presented colorful cultural programmes on the occasion.
