SP College observes Biodiversity Day

SRINAGAR, MAY 22: On International Biodiversity Day, the SP College under the auspices of Green Club organized an awareness programme for the volunteers of the club.
On this occasion held at the college, the Team Leader Green Club, Prof Humaira Qadri, who is also the HOD Environment and Water Management department, stressed on the role of the students as well as academics in disseminating the importance of biodiversity and the need for its conservation.
The Dean Academic Affairs of the college Dr Khursheed Ahmad Khan asked the students to come forth with activity plans for preserving biodiversity.
The Principal of the college, Dr Nazir Ahmad Gilkar impressed upon the students to act as the ambassadors of the message for sustainable development and actively participate in the conservation of biodiversity.
Gilkar said more such events would be held in future even as he hailed the Green Club.
On the occasion, a number of volunteers also shared their views. Later Prof Nasri Farhan extended vote of thanks.
