Sofi-XI lifts V-C’s T20 Cricket Tourney title
Talat Gives Away Prizes
Srinagar, May 23: Sofi-XI lifted the first Vice-Chancellor’s T20 Cricket tournament title defeating hosts Kashmir University in the final played at Kashmir University ground here on Wednesday.
Batting first Kashmir University could manage to score only 118 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted overs. Ashiq with 32 and Mubashir with 23 were highest scorers for them. For Sofi-XI Mujtaba took four wickets.
In reply, Sofi-XI chased down target for the loss of seven wickets in 19.4 overs. Sagar scored brilliant match winning knock of 53 runs for Sofi. For Kashmir University Mehraj and Arfat took two wickets each. Sagar was adjudged as man of the match. Mujtaba Rizvi was adjudged as man of the series while Sajad Sofi as best batsman.
Vice-Chancellor Kashmir University, Professor Talat was chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners.
Among others present on the occasion were Registrar Prof. S. Fayaz Ahmad, Director Physical Education Prof. BA Khan, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. AM Shah, Dean Students Welfare Prof. Neelofar Khan and Dean Faculty Of Education Prof. Mehmood Ahmad.
