Two more children die

Srinagar, May 23: At a time when GB Pant hospital corridors smell some change due to ‘strict regulations’ put in place by the newly appointed Medical Superintendent, its wards still witness child deaths with two babies losing their life in the critical care unit on Wednesday.
Official sources said a baby from Handwara, who was admitted in the hospital on May 12 for treatment, gave into some ailment this morning in the NICU ward of the hospital. Another child died in the PICU ward this morning.
“The patients suffering from complications have fewer chances of survival but as medical professional we don’t have to stop trying save them. But if we don’t attend them honestly then we may be held responsible for their death even if survival chances are zero percent,” said a medico, while reacting to the continuous reports of deaths in the hospital.
