2 children injured in blast

Srinagar, May 24: Two children were injured, one of them critically, when littered explosive went off in frontier district of Kupwara on Thursday, police said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Handwara, Muhammad Aslam, said, “Two children Insha Akhter and Aqib Bashir sustained injuries when they were fiddling with some explosive device in the house of Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir at Unsoo in Handwara area this afternoon.”
He said both the children were shifted to Srinagar for treatment an condition of Insha is stated to be critical.
“Preliminary investigations have revealed the children were fiddling with an abandoned device. It exploded injuring two children critically,” the SP added.
