Girl sustains burn injures in acid attack

Jammu, May 24: Unidentified miscreants today threw acid on the face of a girl, inflicting serious burn injuries to her, in Ra-Seot village falling in Chowk Chabutara area of Tehsil Akhnoor.
The victim has been identified as Asha Devi (21) daughter of Sian Dass resident of Ra-Seot village of Tehsil Akhnoor.
Station House Officer of police station Akhnoor Mahesh Sharma informed that the girl was sleeping in her house when some unidentified miscreants barged inside and threw acid on her face, inflicting serious burn injuries.
“The girl started screaming with pain following which the neighbours rushed to her and shifted her to Tehsil hospital Akhnoor” he said, adding that the statement of girl was yet to be recorded.
Observing serious condition of the girl, the doctors at Tehsil hospital Akhnoor referred her to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu. The condition of girl was stated to be critical when the last reports last poured in.
