NC holds convention
Baramulla, May 24: Additional General Secretary of the National Conference, Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, on Thursday said that people must acquaint themselves with different schemes and programmes launched by Omar Abdullah led government for the welfare of the people.
Addressing a party convention at Dak Bungalow here in north Kashmir Kamal said, “Chief Minister has taken certain revolutionary decisions aimed at ensuring corruption free and accountable, administration. The enactment of RTI and Public Services Guarantee Acts and giving powers to Accountability Commission are aimed to empower the people and provide them an opportunity to get their problems redressed in a time bound manner.”
Kamal said that holding of Panchayat elections in the state were aimed at empowering the people living in rural and far flung areas and giving them a chance to formulate development plans for their villages as per their needs. He said that Panchayat Raj representatives have social responsibility to make the masses aware about the programmes of the government so that people are benefited. KNS
