Anti-govt protest in Pahalgam

Pahalgam, May 25: Hundreds of people today took to streets at famous tourist hub of Pahalgam against the alleged indifference of the coalition government towards the area.
 Led by local MLA, Rafi Ahmad Mir, the protestors highlighted the problems faced by them in the area. A complete strike was also observed in the area and all the shops and business establishments remained closed due to which the tourists suffered huge inconvenience.
 Various sections including Hotel Association, Ponnywalas, tour operators and photographers also participated in the strike.
 "It is really unfortunate that after raising various issues of public importance including health, sanitation, road, infrastructure, education, drinking water facilities, power supply, sudden closure of amusement park, red tapism within the PDA, the Government has failed to address these.”
