Tagore Hall to resume stage shows from Aug 15
Srinagar, May 25: Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora Friday visited
Tagore Hall renovation work adding that the facility would be thrown open on August 15.
Jora was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Tourism and Culture and Secretary Academy, Atal Dulloo and Managing Director, JKPCC, Madan Gupta.
Gupta apprised the Minister about the pace of renovation works currently underway at the theatre. He assured the minister that the renovation work would be completed well in time.
The minister said that he was keen to see the Hall being thrown open for the general public in the shortest possible timeframe.
“The JKPCC engineers informed the minister that the original cost of Rs 5.94 crore earmarked for renovation of Tagore Hall has now been revised to the tune of Rs 12.45 crore and the agency would ensure that the Hall was ready for inauguration on 15th of August this year,” an official handout said.
