Samba XI wins over FCC

Jammu, May 26: Another fantastic innings played by Mohd Saleem today guided Samba XI to a fine six wickets win over Friends Cricket Club (FCC) on way to the third round of the ongoing 3rd Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Memorial Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Saleem played impressive cricket both as bowler and batsman thus helped his side make it an easy encounter against FCC, Jammu.
Earlier, batting first, after Samba XI won the toss and decided to field, FCC bowled out for 163 runs in 31.3 overs off the 50 overs match. In reply, Samba XI attained the goal losing their four wickets in 26 overs.
Ankit Baseen scored maximum 49 runs off 42 deliveries including seven fours while Shubam Singh Pundir and Kunal contributed 24 and 14 runs respectively. From Samba XI, Arjun bagged three wickets, followed by Mohd Saleem Saleem and Naginder, who shared two each.
Later, Samba XI reached the required target of 166 runs in just 26 overs for four wickets. Mohd Saleem played match winning innings of 60-ball 83 studded with 13 hits to the fence. Sahil and Jagtar added 18 and 15 runs respectively. Kunal bowled superb spell of three for eight runs in five overs while Rajneesh took the fourth wicket lost by Samba XI.
Saleem-ur-Rehman and Mohan Lal were umpires in today’s match while Sohail Yousaf maintained the score.
