Ruhullah inaugurates Syed Aga Mehdi cricket tourney
Says Sports Inculcate Discipline
Srinagar, May 27: Minister for Science, Technology, sheep and animal husbandry, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has called for providing congenial sports infrastructure to the youth of the State to polish and exploit their sports talent, adding that sports are essential for imbibing discipline and mental and physical fitness amongst the people.
Speaking at the inaugural function of Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi memorial cricket tournament at Sports Stadium Budgam on Sunday, Aga Ruhullah assured the organizing committee of the tournament of every possible support for polishing the sports talent of the youth.
The Inspector General of Police, S M Sahai, District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Khursheed Ahmad Shah, DIG,CK, Syed Afad-Ullah Mustafa, Secretary, Sports Council, Kiran Wattal, SSP Budgam, Uttam Chand, a large number of sports lovers and students were present on the occasion.
About 64 cricket teams of the Kashmir Valley are participating in Cricket tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Khursheed Shah said that district administration would provide every possible support to sports department for boosting sports activities in the district.
