12 shops gutted
Srinagar, May 2: At least 12 shops and two buildings were damaged in a fire at Chattabal locality here today, official sources said.
There was no report of any casualty in the fire, the sources said.
The fire broke out in a shopping complex next to a Masjid at Bagiyas area of Chattabal in the wee hours and engulfed two other adjacent buildings, the sources said.
Fire tenders were immediately pressed into service and the blaze was doused after several hours of a fire fighting operation, they said.
The cause of the fire was not known immediately, the sources added.
