Geelani to organise Ulema meet
Srinagar, May 3: Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has convened a meeting of the selected Ulema on May 5, Saturday, at 10.30 am at his Hyderpora residence here to seek suggestions to combat what he termed as the menace of Maslaki hatred in Kashmir.
Describing unity among the Muslims as the need of the hour, Geelani appealed to the Ulema of all schools of thought to ignore the differences on the issues of secondary importance in the larger interest of Ummah.
“We should remain united under one banner to strengthen the matters of religious and national importance. Conspiracies were being hatched to whip up sectarian enmity among the Muslims in Kashmir. All this is done to divide the Muslims and weaken the ongoing struggle,” he said.
