Srinagar worst victim of NC policies: Mehbooba
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, May 4: Peoples Democratic Party, President, Mehbooba Mufti Friday accused the ruling National Conference of victimizing the historic Srinagar City.
“NC in its different avatars has always tried to create a gulf between the people of Kashmir and rest of the country so that it is able to exploit it for its own benefit,” she said while addressing meetings of workers at Palpora and Waniyar in Eidgah constituency.
The PDP president said: “While the NC enjoyed power for personal luxuries they took the people of the state for granted and the Srinagar was the worst victim of their power arrogance.”
She said the Srinagarites were “forced to cocoon themselves into a boycott mode and NC kept getting elected as their representatives without having any commitment to the welfare of the people.”
“Expressing dismay at the shelving of the development projects in Srinagar that had been started by the previous government”, Mehbooba said, “this spoke volumes of the political narrow mindedness of the present dispensation.”
Former Finance Minister and senior PDP leader Tariq Hameed Karra also bashed the ruling NC for “worsening economic, political and infrastructure condition of the City.”
