Differences in Hurriyat (M)?
ZAHID MAQBOOL
Sopore, May 6: Differences came to fore in Hurriyat Conference (M) on Sunday when Bilal Gani Lone accused Shabir Ahmed Shah of hypocrisy.
“He should not talk openly about issues in media. There are some issues which are discussed in organization which is good for healthy democratic setup of organization,” Lone said.
He also said that he is ready to come under one banner. “I will be the first person who will dissolve his party and join hands for the betterment of the movement,” he said.
“I am not in race for chairmanship. Whosoever will take the movement forward in the interest of the movement, I will work under him. We will support initiatives of Mirwaiz at all levels. But we will not allow anyone to do politics on issues,” Lone said.
Ruling out accepting any idea that is thrust upon them, he said, “I have always welcomed the ideas of others but no one should thrust his ideas.”
Bilal’s reaction has come days after Shah, who is also an executive member of Hurriyat (M), said that there are differences over restructuring within the amalgam, but these can be sorted out.
Shah said that he had proposed dissolving of individual units so that all constituents would come under single umbrella. “There is need to forge unity between different groups and addressing each other’s concerns for taking the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion,” Shabir said.
