IUST inks pact with Aegis Global Academy
Awantipora, May 6: Islamic University of Science and Technology, (IUST) has signed an MOU with Aegis Global Academy, a subsidiary of the Essar Group Limited, at university campus.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the IUST, Vice- Chancellor, Dr A R Trag and President Aegis Aspire Consultancy Services Limited, Subir Ghosh to provide study and placement chances to the university students.
“This is a big development that we have signed an MOU with the Aegis group. Though we have raised the intake capacity of MBA from 60 to 75 seats which is not enough as large number of students in the valley go outside to pursue MBA courses and most of the students get admission in the universities which are unregistered and unrecognized,” said Vice Chancellor, IUST, A R Trag after signing the MOU.
He said that the Aegis Group would facilitate the admission of aspiring valley students in the reputed and registered universities of the country and would be providing trainings and job placement opportunities to them as well.
He said that the University has been relying on the limited number of teachers and asked Aegis group to provide well trained faculty to the IUST. “It is not necessary to have the permanent faculty all time, but where ever the best teachers are should be brought to teach the students,” said Trag.
He said that the University has already held many MOU’s with the various groups and universities, “We have also appeared in an MOU with the Tokyo University and our focus is not only to sign MOU’s with the national Groups only but International universities and groups also,” he said.
He said the MOU with the Aegis group besides providing great chances of interactions to the IUST students it would also facilitate their admission and provide job placements as well.
“Aegis would depute their teachers to teach our students. Their teachers will be paying visits to deliver guest lectures to our students. This will also give chances of interaction and exposures to the students,” Trag Added.
Meanwhile while speaking on the occasion, Subir Ghosh said that the MOU would not only give Kashmiri students a chance to study at the most industry- oriented business school in the country, Aegis Global Academy but will open the doors for the students of IUST to get job opportunities in different companies of the ESAR group.
