GK NEWS NETWORK
Sopore, May 6: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq took mainstream politicians head on by calling their statements about the resolution of Kashmir issue as double standards.
“They cannot even pass a resolution about the repeal of AFSPA and other draconian laws. They claim to be the representatives of the people but they have no right. They cannot advocate giving sentence to those who have been charged. How can they solve Kashmir issue?” Mirwaiz said at a rally in Sopore.
Throwing an open challenge to mainstream political parties to pass even a single resolution on Kashmir dispute in the State Assembly, Mirwaiz said that Hurriyat would not accept any dictation or pressure from anyone and stressed that Kashmiris were the only proprietor of their nation and fortunes.
“This is our country and we will decide about its fate,” he said.
While rejecting any readymade solution, the Hurriyat (M) Chairman said, “We won’t accept any solution that is forced upon us.”
Mirwaiz added that Hurriyat (M) was talking of peace but cautioned that it shouldn’t be taken as a weakness.

Assuring the people that struggle will be taken to its logical end in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiris, Mirwaiz said, “We are not here for power. We have full realization about the sacrifices the people of Kashmir have given for this cause. We will not allow anyone to do business on the sacrifices of Kashmiris.” He was reciprocated with freedom slogans by the crowd.
