Shabir wins district cycling championship
Srinagar, May 6: Shabir Akhoon of Youth Services and Sports department emerged winner of district Srinagar cycling championship organised by J&K Cycling Association from Nehru Park to Hazratbal here on Sunday.
In the 14-kilometer event around 250 riders participated. In the senior category, Shabir Akhoon of DYSS finished first while as Tariq Ahmad (Mped) of Shalimar Sports Club finished second while as Mudasir of Fort City Sports Club finished third. In junior category, Amir Ashad of Shlimar Sports Club finished first while as Umer Aziz of same club finished second. Umaid of Burnhall finished 3rd.
In the sub-junior category, Yawar, Amir, Parveez of Chinnar Cycling Club finished first, second and third respectively.
President Fort City Sports Club, Bashir Ahmad was chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes and certificates among winners.
