Tributes paid to Badri Bazaz

Srinagar May 6: Glowing tributes were paid to noted social activist and champion of women’s rights Badri Bazaz on her 31st death anniversary simultaneously in Delhi today.
 She was the wife of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum(JKDF) president ,Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz.
 In a statement a spokesman of JKDLP said she was the first veteran woman freedom fighter of early thirties and founder chairperson of the party.
 On her death anniversary a congregation was organized in New Delhi today by the Forum. “People from all walks of life paid floral tributes to her memory and recalled her selfless service and relentless struggle against the social and political evils of the society. Speakers highlighted her untiring effort in eradication, of illiteracy, widow resettlement and suppression of the dowry tradition,” the statement said.
 On the occasion Pandit Bhushan Bazaz, president demanded resolution of longstanding Kashmir issue.
