Cabinet to meet on Thursday
AKSHAY AZAD
Jammu, May 7: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is schedule to chair an important cabinet meeting in Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, on Thursday.
Sources informed Greater Kashmir that the state cabinet is likely to meet at 10 am on 10 May 2012 at Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
To be the first meeting after the Durbar move, the cabinet is expected to take some important decisions including the much awaited likely reshuffle in the state administration.
“The post of financial commissioner Revenue and secretary Cooperative have fallen vacant due to the superannuation of RK Jerath and GR Bhagat on April 30” they said, adding that the government might also fill up the vacant post of commissioner secretary health, being presently looked after by the commissioner secretary higher education Tanveer Jahan.
Some Deputy Commissioners have also retired last month and government might also fill up these posts, sources said.
The cabinet is also expected to deliberate on the election schedule for urban local bodies, block councils of Panchayats and four reserved seats of Legislative Council.
If sources are to be believed the elections to urban local bodies are likely to be held towards the end of 2012.
