He is non entity: Prof Bhat Who is Shabir Dar: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, May 7: A day after chairman of Muslim Conference Professor Abdul Gani Bhat said the United Nations resolutions are inapplicable in JK, General Secretary of the party Shabir Ahmed Dar issued a statement on Monday announcing ouster of Professor Bhat from the party.
“An emergency meeting of the prominent party members was held here to discuss Professor Bhat’s statement. Members unanimously decided to expel Professor Bhat from the basic membership of the Muslim Conference,” Dar said.
He said that members elected him as the interim working president of the party. “Professor Bhat’s statement violates the constitution of the Muslim Conference. Such anti-movement statements cannot be tolerated,” Dar added.
However, Professor Bhat and Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that “Dar is no entity.” “Hurriyat only recognizes Professor Bhat. We don’t know who is Shabir Dar?” Mirwaiz told Greater Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Professor Bhat said that Dar’s statement doesn’t carry any weight. “Where is his office, and who are his working committee members,” asked Prof Bhat .
“I continue to hold the office. Only president has got the powers to oust someone form the party,” he added.
Professor Bhat said that Dar is not affiliated with Muslim Conference as he had left the party long back. “He is playing in the rough hands of his friends. He is nobody,” Professor Bhat added.
Asked about the resentment expressed by Hurriyat (M) leaders against his recent statement, Prof Bhat said, “I defend their right to differ. I had referred to the negotiated settlement of the Kashmir issue and it’s very much a part of Hurriyat constitution.”
