‘Forest loot in Doodganga range’
Srinagar, Oct 31: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wednesday condemned the alleged continuous loot of forests and timber smuggling in various parts of the state especially in Pir Panjal forest division (Doodganga range).
In a statement issued here today, a PDP spokesman said that timber smuggling is continuously going on in Pir Panjal forest division, particularly in Doodganga forest range in Chadoora Branwar.
“On the intervening night of 29th and 30th a truck bearing no JK01A-0451 loaded with illegal timber was being unloaded at the residence of a noted political worker in Branwar village of Chadoora,” the spokesman alleged. “Some locals informed the concerned forest officials but unfortunately no action was taken against the culprit. The officials instead of taking any legal action against the culprit are in hand in glow with him and till date no FIR has been filed in this regard.”
