K-issue root cause of all ills in JK: Mirwaiz
Srinagar,Oct 31: The Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday said Kashmir issue was root cause of all ills in Jammu and Kashmir.
“It is the pending resolution of Kashmir issue which has actually led to killings, blood-shed, suppression, torture and worst atrocities against women and human rights violations in the state,” said Mirwaiz while interacting with an 11-member civil society delegation headed by prominent journalist Seema Mustafa that called on him at Hurriyat headquarters here.
Mirwaiz informed the delegation that due to non-resolution of Kashmir issue an army of orphans, widows and disabled people has been created in the state.
Mirwaiz said it was also due to this fact that custodial killings, enforced disappearances, and issue of mass graves had cropped up in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mirwaiz said the unbridled powers vested with the soldiers due to AFSPA, PSA, and disturbed area legislation gave them impunity to act on their will.
