Muharram arrangements to be monitored on daily basis: SMC

Srinagar, Nov 9: In a bid to ensure foolproof arrangements for the upcoming Muharram, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Friday said a feedback of the facilities provided would be taken on daily basis.
 While chairing a high level meeting, which was also attended by members of Shia community the SMC Commissioner, Dr GN Qasba assured that the sanitation measures would be accelerated and adequate arrangements of streetlights would be in place in areas where Muharram related functions including processions are held.
 “He emphasized the need to maintain up to the mark sanitation before hand and maintenance of streetlights. The Executive Engineer(Mech) was directed to ensure maintenance of streetlights and submit a daily report in this behalf to Joint Commissioner(Adm)SMC Fayaz Ahmed Bala,” a SMC handout said.
