HDFC Bank opens branch at Kargil

Kargil, Nov 10: HDFC Bank, one of the premier banks in the country, inaugurated a branch in Kargil. It is the 43rd branch of the Bank in Jammu and Kashmir.
Minister for Food & Supplies, Qamer Ali Akhoon inaugurated the branch. The Minister on the occasion appreciated the bank for its “growth and expansion plans and for bringing world class services to the door steps of the people.”
The Minister expressed hope that bank will generate more employment avenues for local educated youth and become a vehicle for economic growth of the state. The branch will offer world-class banking services under one roof.
Speaking on the occasion, Zubair Iqbal, Vice President & State Head HDFC Bank said, “The focus of the bank is to reach out to the large unbanked segment in the region and provide banking solutions and accessibility to funds. Today, the bank has achieved a consistent growth rate and the largest private bank network in the state in a span of 8 years. Our strategic journey since 2003 in Jammu & Kashmir is a testimony of our growth plans.”
